Map of MalaysiaThe Federation of Malaysia consists of two seperate parts; West Malaysia is located on the Malay Peninsula, while East Malaysia consists of Sabah and Sarawak on the island of Borneo 435 miles across the South China Sea. Despite this distance, both areas share a similar landscape, which is mountainous and covered with lush tropical rain forest. the climate is tropical, hot and humid all year round, with annual average rainfall of 250 cm a year. MalaMalaysia is the worlds main tin producer, and also produces over 40% of the worlds rubber, and also a leading source of palm oil, bauxite and gold.
